Action Groups are centered on a town or suburb. Working along with Bible Society, they enlist the support of churches and Christian groups to:
Who should serve in an Action Group?
If you’re a committed active Christian who reads and believes the Bible, and have proven its effectiveness in your own life then you’d be a perfect partner for Bible Society and would make a great Action Group member.
Action Group members are also volunteer Bible Society church representatives in their churches.
What do Action Groups do?
Some of the things Action Groups do include:
Fundraising events are the most common activity and include things like Quiz nights, sports tournaments, auctions, dinners, coffee mornings, swim-a-thons, cycle tours, bake sales, spud in a bucket and even shed tours – there’s no limit to the ways funds can be raised.
What would you be expected to do?
It’s up to you how much you’d like to be involved. Pop along to an Action Group meeting and you’ll find a relaxed and informative environment.
Groups meet every one to three months with the meetings lead by volunteers. They’ll probably be organising an event, and you’ll quickly have the opportunity to become involved if you wish – but there’s no obligation.
