Mission Adventure Diary - Days Three to Six

The Mission Adventurers are all go go go! In the past few days, they’ve given out glasses to people in Preskom Village, presented some beautiful cards from Roscommon School kids to kids in Khley Village and delivered mp3 players to audio literacy classes in a very remote region. Read more

Mission Adventure Diary - Day One and Two

The Mission Adventure team visits the Toul Krang literacy class in Cambodia.
Our Mission Adventurers have touched down in Cambodia and are straight into visiting Bible Society mission projects there. On Day two they visited the Toul Krang literacy class in the Kandall Provence today where they got to hand out school packs, school uniforms, writing materials, kids Bible stories and full Bibles for the adult students. Reformatted Māori Bible launched

For the people gathered at Te Rau College in Gisborne for the launch of the new edition of Te Paipera Tapu (The Holy Bible in Māori), the wait has been a long one. For 13 years a team from Bible Society New Zealand has been reformatting the Māori Bible for a new generation of Māori speakers. Read more

Bible Society 2013 Mission Adventurers announced

2013 Mission Adventurers Jasmine Thornton (left) and Adam Tamariki met for the first time in Auckland this week and shared their excitement for the trip.
Over 1,000 entries were received for Bible Society’s third Mission Adventure competition to send two people on a life-changing mission to help deliver Bibles in Cambodia and Vietnam. Congratulations go to Jasmine Thornton, 18 from Auckland and 27 year old Adam Tamariki, also from Auckland. Read more

Coming in from the cold in Southern Russia

Aleksei grew up in Novoaltaysk in the Altai Krai region, in southern Russia. Drugs were easy to come by in those parts, and by the time he was 23 years old Aleksei was a heroin addict.

Egypt mourns great Christian leader

Many years ago a young Egyptian man, Nazeer Gayed, used to read the Bible passage in the Bible Society bookshop window every day as he walked along the street in downtown Cairo. One day he was struck by John 12.35. It became his call to ministry.
