Auckland region Bible Quiz final 2010

After several months of area Bible quizzes in the Auckland region, the finalists were eventually brought together on 30 October to participate in this year’s Bible Quiz Final.

Nine teams representing the Papakura, Pukekohe, Mangere East/Papatoetoe, Waiuku and Mt Eden areas gathered at the Papatoetoe Adolescent Christian Trust (PACT) Hall in Papatoetoe for a very exciting and fun filled evening.

This year’s Bible Quiz questions were compiled by Brian and Shirley Smith of Auckland and were based on the E100 Bible Reading Challenge. Forty Old Testament questions were asked from the books of Jonah and Malachi along with ten Old Testament general knowledge questions. The New Testament questions came from Paul’s letters to the churches and also contained a number of general knowledge questions.

It was great to see both the young and more senior folk participate in this year’s quiz. Although the teams had only nineteen points separating them at the half way mark, ‘The Sista’s’ from Pukekohe were the eventual winners with a margin of eleven points over second placed ‘Kingsgate B’, also from Pukekohe.
