Bible helping drug addicts in China

The Baoshan Christian Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Yunnan Province, China is helping drug addicts recover from their addictions.

Ting, a recovering-drug addict, whose life has been changed through the Bible.

One such is Ting. "I used to be very tough," says Ting. “For many years I lived on the run from the authorities. There was little I wouldn't do to feed my addiction - theft, arson, even murder."

"After six years, my sister persuaded me to go to the Christian Drug Rehabilitation Centre.

"It was a two-day journey. We stopped in Lin Cang City for the night. My withdrawal symptoms were so bad, I screamed and shouted all night for relief.

"Since coming to the Centre, I've learnt a lot, especially from the Bible. I was a quick-tempered person.

"But through the Bible, God has taught me to be meek and patient. Whenever I felt the urge to take drugs God's Word would pull me through.

"I'll be graduating in 5 months’ time. I'm looking forward to returning home and sharing how God has changed my life."
