Vital take home message for youth

The Bible Society of Côte d’Ivoire has a vital take-home message for youth: you are responsible for your life. Therefore – Take Charge!

In Côte d’Ivoire, students are learning perhaps the most important take-home message of their lives in Young people equipped to fight HIV/AIDS meetings, such as this one.

This simple but powerful statement is changing the lives of many young people in the country.

And yes, it is referring to that most taboo of subjects – sex.

Through its Take Charge youth programme, Bible Society teaches students that if they change their behaviour, the chances of getting HIV is very small, and the war against HIV/AIDS can be won!

Bible Society is also very keen that students overcome their own prejudices about HIV-positive people. Each student is introduced to an HIV-positive person whom they care for and pray for as a part of the programme.
