40 years of CRE to young Kiwis

Mary Jones-Ovenden (yes, she has relations in Wales and has been to Bala!) ended 40 years service as a Christian Religious Education (CRE) teacher last year. CRE was formerly known as Bible in Schools.

Throughout the course of her career, Mary has taught CRE at schools in Ashhurst, Whanganui, Carterton and Palmerston North.

“I have taught the Mary Jones story as a part of the curriculum. Tarore and her book was also widely appreciated,” says Mary.

Around the country many CRE teachers such as Mary are working faithfully every week to bring the Good News of the Gospel to young, enquiring minds.
