They call it the Arab Spring. The wave of revolutionary uprisings and protests that have swept across North Africa and the Middle East beginning in December 2010.
Some are calling this a pivotal moment in the history of this region.
The people in these countries are rising up against poverty and corruption.
They’re crying out for democracy. They’re longing for freedom from their earthly oppressors.
Like the coming of spring they’re longing for new life and hope to enter in, just as in Jesus’ day the Jewish people longed to be liberated from their Roman oppressors.
But just as in Jesus’ day there’s still only one real source of lasting hope – that which comes from being in a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ!
Bible Society is working to bring that message of hope to people throughout the Middle East. In Egypt, the Revolution is creating new opportunities allowing Bible Society to promote biblical values as the building blocks of the nation.
Scripture selections, such as True Liberation, provided at key times such as during the recent referendum, are focusing on values such as honesty, human dignity and social justice.
Billboards and newspaper advertisements, too, promote the idea that true reformation can only come about through a reformation of the human heart.
A true reformation underpinning a true revolution!
With your help it can happen!
Right now, there are unprecedented opportunities to provide Bibles for people throughout the Middle East.
Your gift, made today, will help to bring about the one True Liberation that really counts for the people of the Middle East creating an Arab Spring that lasts not just for a season but for eternity!
Thank you and God bless you.
