The specially designed children’s Bibles for Christian Religious Education (CRE) classes are here. We want to take this opportunity to say thank you. So many of you have captured our vision and supported this project so generously, and for this we’re very grateful.
Soon 32,500 copies of the Contemporary English Version (CEV) of the children’s Bible will be distributed to CRE classes in years 5 & 6 in state schools by the Churches Education Commission.
The Bible contains 32 pages of full colour illustrations and the Lord’s Prayer and the national anthem in both Maori and English. It has a New Zealand themed cover which was chosen by children because it reminded them of New Zealand’s natural environment and because it seemed special.
For many children, this may be the first opportunity they’ve ever had to hold a Bible in their own hands, to open it and to read it. Please pray that these Bibles will impact children’s lives both now and into the future.
