Norway
The Bible has been at the top of the bestseller lists following the launch of two new Bible translations in the languages of bokmai and nynorsk. The translations captured the interest of King Harald V, who invited Bible Society representatives to the royal palace in Oslo to learn more about the translation process.
Kyrgyzstan
An event to celebrate 15 years of Bible Society mission in Kyrgystan was attended by representatives from 60 local churches. A UBS representative told the delegates how much the mission of the Bible Society of Kyrgystan has expanded in recent years.
Malaysia
The Bible Society of Malaysia has declared 2012 to be the Year of Women. It will undertake Bible engagement and literacy projects to help Malaysian women develop strong spiritual foundations based on God’s Word.
Nigeria
The General Secretary of the Bible Society of Nigeria, the Rev Dr Fred Odutola, presented the president of Nigeria, Dr Goodluck Jonathan, with a special edition of the Good News Bible in honour of his 54th birthday on 20 November, 2011.
Ethiopia
The three million speakers of the Tigrai language in Ethiopia, 95 percent of whom are Christian, have received the Adapted Tigrigna New Testament.
